Core Values and Committments
To advance the Kingdom of God (Mk. 1:14-17, Jesus came … saying … ‘the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel … Follow me.’)
To: know God, not just about God.
> Not mere proposition, but experience (Acts 1:8; 2:1-13).
To: worship of God (Ps. 5:7-8, 11-12; 22:3; 34:1-3; 100:4; Rom. 12:1; Heb. 13:15)
Worship that is Jesus-focused and God-honoring is our goal and ministry. It is to be heartfelt, sacrificial, promoting the awe of God, and offered in reverence with humility, childlikeness and joyfulness.
To: present God’s Word as the authority for faith, practice & life (Deut. 4:2; Ps. 19:7; Prov. 30:6; Mt. 5:18; Rom. 6:17; 7:12; 2 Tim. 3:16; Tit. 1:9; Heb. 4:12; Rev. 22:18-19).
> In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.
To: Transformation & Restoration (Romans 12:1, 2)
Being transformed to the image and character of Christ, thus growing in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, is the goal of the disciple of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we submit to continual conversion by the Holy Spirit. This mystery and wonder promotes: faith in God, freedom from fear, freedom from anxiety, freedom from things and freedom for people and freedom for love.
Prayer Ministry (Ex. 15:25-26; Ps. 34:19; John 10:10; Rom. 2:14; Eph. 2:14; 2
Tim. 1:7; Jas. 5:13-16) is a God-given resource for knowing the healing
(restoration) provided for by Jesus Christ: healing in spirit, mind, and body.
Further, this ministry seeks to edify (build up, strengthen); comfort; exhort
(encourage), the person and, therefore, to reveal the love of Father God.
To: Intercessory Prayer (2 Chronicles 30:18; Ps. 55:16-17; Mt. 11:12; Lk. 18:1; Jn. 14:2; 2 Cor. 6:7; Eph. 6:10-18; 1 Thess. 5:17; 1 Tim. 1:18, 2:1-2; Jas. 5:16-18).
Prayer, intercession, and spiritual warfare are the foundational means of personal and corporate fruitfulness in life, and ministry. The reality of the invisible realm of spiritual conflict demands biblical confrontation through prayer and ministry with discernment, wisdom, and love.
To: Small Group Ministry (Hebrews 13:16; 1 Peter 3:8-12) as means to build authentic community, stir-up one another in the Faith, and find opportunity for ministry.
To: Evangelism and Spirit-Filled Witness (Is. 43:12, 44:8, 52:7; Matt. 28:20; Mk. 16:15; Acts 1:8, 22:15; Rom. 10:14-17; 2 Tim. 4:2; 1 Pet. 3:15; Rev. 12:11). May every believer obediently seek: to be empowered by the Holy Spirit for witness, to be equipped in the Word for proclamation of truth and to be given His gifts for faithful service. We seek to present Jesus Christ in a culturally relevant and biblically faithful manner.
To: Give of our finances, gifts, abilities, time, and to the good stewardship of same (Gen. 28:22; Lev. 27:30; Deut. 15:10; Ps. 15; Prov. 3:9-10, 23, 11:25; Mal. 3:8-12; 2 Cor. 9:6-12).
